# Using SyntheticFi in a client meeting

Use SyntheticFi as a planning tool that strengthens every review, not just the loan conversation

{% hint style="info" %}

## It's a recurring lever, not a one-time use case

SyntheticFi is a planning tool you can bring into almost any client meeting. Use it to fund life events without selling, plan around big purchases, and bridge transitions. Clients see you bringing them ideas, not just managing assets.
{% endhint %}

Most advisors treat SyntheticFi as a one-time refi conversation. The ones who get the most out of it use it as a recurring lever they bring into client meetings year after year.

### Four ways it comes up

1. **Funding a life event without selling.** A client mentions a wedding, a renovation, tuition, or a second home. Instead of suggesting they sell, offer a loan that keeps them invested with deductible interest.
2. **Planning around a big purchase.** A client is weighing a jumbo mortgage or a large cash outlay. Show them the math on lowering the all-in cost, preserving capital gains deferral, and the available deduction.
3. **Bridging a transition.** Selling a business, timing a home sale and purchase, between jobs. SyntheticFi provides fast, flexible bridge financing without forcing the client out of the market or into expensive bank credit.
4. **Refinancing as the plan evolves.** Clients with existing SBLOCs, margin loans, or HELOCs are usually overpaying. Bringing it up in the annual review surfaces savings they didn't know were available.

When you bring SyntheticFi into a meeting, you're not just managing assets, you're giving clients options on the liability side of the balance sheet too. That's a differentiator most advisors don't have.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://advisorhub.syntheticfi.com/serving-existing-clients-learn-more/using-syntheticfi-in-a-client-meeting.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
